What this hike covers

Champadevi is a ridge summit at 2,285 metres south of Kathmandu, popular for a short but steep half-day hike. The trail climbs through pine forest and opens onto a ridge lined with prayer flags. On clear days you can see the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges to the north.

Itinerary

  • 07:30 AM: Hotel pickup and 45-minute drive south past Chobar to the trail access point.
  • 08:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Climb up a steep pine forest trail to the Champadevi Summit for views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges.
  • 11:30 AM – 03:00 PM: Descend via the ridge traverse trail.
  • 03:00 PM – 04:00 PM: Evening pickup at the trail-end parking spot and return to the hotel.
