This is our most complete Nepal introduction. Over ten days you visit the UNESCO sites of Kathmandu, sunrise over the Annapurna range from Sarangkot, the birthplace of Buddha at Lumbini, jungle safaris in Chitwan, and a Himalayan sunrise at Nagarkot before returning to Kathmandu.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest after your flight and meet your trip planner for a short briefing.
Day 2: Full-day Kathmandu sightseeing
Visit Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and either Boudhanath or Pashupatinath in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Pokhara via Manakamana
Leave Kathmandu and drive to Pokhara. Stop at Kurintar for the Manakamana Cable Car, a popular pilgrimage ride above the Trishuli valley. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 4: Sarangkot sunrise and Pokhara sightseeing
Drive up to Sarangkot before dawn for sunrise over Machapuchare and the Annapurna range. After breakfast, visit David’s Fall, Gupteshwar Cave, the International Mountain Museum, and take a boat on Phewa Lake. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 5: Drive to Lumbini and stupa sightseeing
Drive from Pokhara to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Walk through the Sacred Garden, visit Maya Devi Temple, the Ashoka Pillar, and nearby monasteries. Overnight in Lumbini.
Day 6: Drive to Chitwan, Tharu village and sunset
Continue east to Chitwan National Park. In the late afternoon, visit a Tharu village and watch the sunset over the Terai grasslands. Overnight in Chitwan.
Day 7: Full-day Chitwan jungle safari
Start early with a jeep safari or canoe ride, then take a guided nature walk and watch the Tharu cultural dance in the evening. Overnight in Chitwan.
Day 8: Drive from Chitwan to Nagarkot
Travel north to Nagarkot, a hill station east of Kathmandu known for clear Himalayan sunrises. Overnight in Nagarkot.
Day 9: Nagarkot sunrise, Bhaktapur, and Kathmandu
Wake early for sunrise over the Himalaya. Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, then drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 10: Departure transfer
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.
